Bussan死後三年，Bambi、Ani、Master和Uchi四人各散东西，过着自己的生活。四人一直为没有跟Bussan好好的告别而耿耿于怀。某日，Bambi突然听到一把酷似Bussan的声音由天上传来「Ifyoubuildit,hewillcome.」。为了这句说话，四人再次在木更津聚首…《木更津猫眼》原为2002年播出的日剧，由鬼才宫藤官九郎编剧，冈田准一、樱井翔、冢本高史、佐藤隆太和冈田义德主演。故事描写只剩半年寿命的Bussan，与另外四位棒球队的朋友Bambi、Ani、Master和Uchi组成「木更津猫眼」的怪盗团，闹出不少离奇古怪的事。由于剧情荒诞有趣，加上拍摄手法新颖，剧集播出後引起很大的迴响。电视台随即在隔年开拍电影版《木更津猫眼日本系列》。事隔三年，《木更津猫眼》再度复活，由原班人马上阵拍摄系列完结篇《木更津猫眼世界系列》。本片不单是向Bussan说再见，也是大家向《木更津猫眼》系列告别之作。
