　　故事产生在1977年的法国,罗伯特（法布莱斯·鲁奇尼 Fabrice Luchini 饰）是一位风格非常专断专行的工场老板,他不只敌部下的工人们非常严厉刻薄,在家庭里亦是一位不折不扣的“大老公”。久长以来的压榨令工人们末路怒的呼号声达到了高峰,他们举办了范围盛大的歇工请愿,他们要更少的任务跟更多的薪水,还强迫罗伯特上台。　　就在这个节骨眼上,罗伯特那素日里遐迩闻名的老婆苏珊娜（凯瑟琳·德纳芙 Catherine Deneuve 饰）站了出来,她不只应用本人灵巧的社比武段抚慰了工人们的末路怒,乃至让他们乖乖的回到了各自的任务岗亭之上。在苏珊娜的引导之下,工场规复了出产,工人们的任务前提掉掉落了改良,但是,对这所有,此时正在外埠休养的罗伯特一窍欠亨。
